GTA VI Platforms and Multiplayer: Your Questions Answered
Two months before launch, the same questions keep coming up: will it be on PC, is there multiplayer, what happens to GTA Online? Here is a clear answer to each, separating what has been said officially from what is still speculation.
Which platforms is GTA VI launching on?
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, on November 19, 2026. That is the only launch confirmed so far.
Is there a PC version?
Not at launch, and there is no date. But a PC release does look likely. Asked again by shareholders, Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said the company's strategy is, over time, to release games on every platform with a significant audience, and that PC is becoming increasingly important to the business. He also gave a striking figure: for a big release, PC can now account for roughly 45–50% of total sales, whereas it was around 5% for a major sports series when he joined the company in 2007.
That is a strong hint, not a promise. Any talk about exact timing is guesswork until Rockstar announces something.
Will it come to Nintendo Switch 2?
Nothing has been announced. A former GTA VI developer recently said a Switch 2 version would make little sense. That is one person's opinion, so treat it as commentary rather than news.
Does GTA VI have multiplayer?
Not at launch. Zelnick described GTA VI as a single-player game, and said Take-Two would keep supporting GTA Online after GTA VI is released and beyond. In other words, the current online game is not going away.
When could a new online mode arrive?
Rockstar has not said. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, who says his company talks regularly with Rockstar, suggested that viewership would jump at GTA VI's launch and jump even higher next year when multiplayer arrives. That is a credible source but not an official confirmation, so the honest summary is: likely 2027, unconfirmed.
Will the game have microtransactions?

What should I do now?
