Lucia and Jason Explained: Who the GTA VI Leads Are

Grand Theft Auto VI is built around two playable characters, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Rockstar frames them as a pair who have always known the odds are against them. When what should have been an easy score goes wrong, they get pulled into a criminal conspiracy that spreads across the state of Leonida and have to rely on each other to survive.

Lucia Caminos

Rockstar's profile says Lucia was born in Liberty City and taught to fight early. Her story starts with her release from prison, and she comes out determined not to repeat her impulsive mistakes. Press coverage calls her the first fully voiced female lead of the modern series, although that comparison depends on how you count earlier games.

Jason Duval

Jason is a pragmatic former soldier who never quite escaped crime. In the Extended Look he is seen working with a smuggler named Brian Heder and handling boats around Vice City. Reports say Brian gives him a rent-free place to stay in exchange for help with shakedowns.

How the partnership works

The relationship is part of the design. Rockstar says how close the two become influences the story and its ending, and reports say players can also treat them as a strictly business duo. Money and heat are shared, and you can switch characters, although the story may lock the choice in some missions.

The voice cast
